You ring me.
You get me.
No call centre, no dispatcher, no sub-contractor turning up in an unmarked van. When you book Pankhurst Electrical you get Chris Pankhurst — same bloke on the phone, same bloke at your door, same bloke standing behind the work afterwards.
What hiring me actually means
"Owner-operator" gets used a lot and doesn't mean much on its own. Here's what it means in practice.
You deal with one person
The person who quotes the job is the person who does the job. Nothing gets lost between the office and the van, because there isn't an office.
I turn up when I said I would
If I'm running late you'll get a call, not silence. It's the single most common complaint people have about tradies and it's the easiest one to fix.
You'll know what it costs before I start
Free quotes on most jobs. If something unexpected turns up mid-job — and in older houses it sometimes does — I'll stop and talk to you about it before spending your money.
I stand behind it for six months
Six-month workmanship guarantee. If something I've installed isn't right, ring me and I'll come back and sort it.
How a job runs
You get in touch
Ring, text or send a message. Tell me what's going on — photos help if it's a fault.
I give you a price
Free quote on most jobs, usually same day. No obligation, no follow-up sales calls.
I do the work
I turn up when I said I would, do the job properly, and tidy up after myself.
You get the paperwork
Certificate of compliance where the job needs one, emailed to you. Six-month guarantee on the workmanship.
The boring but important bit
Electrical work in New Zealand is regulated for good reason, and you're entitled to check anyone who turns up at your house.
EWRB-registered
Registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board and practising on a current licence.
Fully insured
Public liability cover in place on every job.
Certificates of compliance
Issued on all work that requires them, emailed before I leave.
6-month workmanship guarantee
On everything I do. If it's not right, ring me and I'll come back.
Based in Porirua, working across the region
Home base is Porirua, and most of my work is within about forty minutes of it. That covers Porirua and Tawa, Wellington city and the western suburbs, the Hutt Valley, and up the Kapiti Coast.
If you're a bit outside that, ring me anyway. Depending on the job and what else I've got on that week, I can often make it work.
Right then - what needs doing?
Whether it's a dead socket or a full rewire, ring me and I'll tell you honestly what's involved. Quotes are free on most jobs and I'll give you a straight answer either way.
